Overview
The Web Administration System is a componentized web application that helps the West Shore School District manage information about its various schools. The system includes the modules below which can be run in multiple instances (e.g. you could have two calendars).
Netcomm Solutions contracted Develisys to help them complete this project. We fixed bugs and added functionality to the calendar, policies, and user management components. We then developed the curriculum and static page modules.
Calendar
This component allows staff members to publish calendar events to the website. It also has an approval system so that an event will not be published to the website without approval from an authorized individual(s).
Policies
This component catalogs various school policies in PDF format into a searchable database.
Curriculum
This component catalogs all of the school district's classes into a searchable database. Each class can have PDF syllabus file attached. Classes can also be marked as publically or privately viewable.
Static Page
This component allows a static page (plain HTML) to be securely added to the system under any module. Security permissions can also be set for these pages.
User Management
Users can be added to the system and given different levels of security. Security permissions can be set for each module in the system.
