Client Requirements

Adventure Sports in Hershey, PA approached Develisys for a complete overhaul of thier existing site. Besides a new look, a user-friendly restructuring of the site content was also required. It was imperative that the new site rank well in search engines and provide an easy method of making online reservations for group outings and special events. The new site design needed to do a much better job at presenting Adventure Sports as a clean, exciting, affordable family fun destination in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Solution

The visual design of this project had to convey excitement and fun. Many possibilities for a visual style emerged during the research phase of the project. It would have been easy to find ourselves going down a very hokey and gimmicky design route. The site needed to exude excitement but still maintain a clean professional appearance. After all, it was moms looking for a fun day trip, not kids, who where going to be using this site. Large photos of real patrons provided a lot of visual appeal as well as help the user to get a real sense for what Adventure Sports was all about. A large bold font was chosen for all the site headings to remind mom that although the site was for her the destination was all about the kids.

Once the mockup phase was completed the site was coded and assembled using web standards. Clean, semantic markup is always used in each of our projects. We worked with Adventure Sports representatives to mold clear concise copy that would serve as the foundation for the forthcoming search engine optimization.

The final result is something we are very proud of. The site has a fun vibe but at the same time it is taking care of business.
