Our Process

How do we do what we do?

It’s a question we’re asked all the time. Below is an overview of our process and the steps we’ll take you through when you work with us.

I. Discovery Meeting (Pre-Sale)

This is the touchy/feely, getting-to-know-each-other session. Whenever possible this is a face-to-face meeting at our office or yours, although for our West Coast clients a phone conference must suffice. The goal of this session is for both of us to determine if we are a good fit for one another, and we should leave the meeting knowing this. This is achieved by us learning about you and your project and by you learning about us and how we work. If we do not think that there is a good fit we will tell you during the meeting. We respect your time and do not want to waste it, and we expect the same in return. You will meet with a project manager and an Internet marketer that will be the actual people you will work with. II. Proposal (Pre-Sale)

The proposal is the coalescing of project scope and pricing. The project scope is our interpretation of your requirements and goals and the steps necessary to achieve them. We will present the proposal to you and answer any lingering questions you may have. If you feel that something is missing from the proposal or perhaps more than you need, we will revise it. Once you sign the proposal the fun begins!

III. Strategic Planning

By this point a general sense of the functional requirements and marketing objectives for the project have emerged. Now it’s time to dig in and get specific.

Internet Marketing Strategy

The creation of the strategy is a collaborative process that brings vision and structure by defining a roadmap for all web development and Internet marketing activities for the next 18 to 24 months. Through this process we learn a great deal about your business, market, customers and competitors. Using this knowledge we determine what content and functionality your Web site requires to succeed and how best to leverage it. Next we devise ways to drive qualified traffic to your site to get you in front of the people that matter. Finally we prioritize these short and long-term tactics to maximize your return on investment. Learn More about Strategies »

Project Document

This is how we make sure that we’re all on the same page…by putting everything about your project down on the page. Project deliverables, milestones and every detail of your new Web site is documented so you know exactly what you’re getting and when you’re getting it. This gives you the opportunity to request changes before we build anything. Once you’ve given us your approval, it’s design time!

IV. Web Site Mockup

Bring in the creatives! Following the strategic planning blueprints, our designers take over, turning all of that marketing who-hah into a slick, user-friendly Web site design that matches your visual identity and speaks to your customers. If you’re not thrilled with the design, we give our designers 20 lashes (and your feedback), and tell them to revise the design or come up with something new. The majority of the time they nail it on the first design. The fear of lashings may have something to do with that…

V. Web Site Prototype

Once you approve a mockup we begin to build the Web site. The mockup is converted into a working Web site, a prototype. Persuasive copy is written and flowed for the Web, vibrant graphics are added, and any custom functionality is developed. As we create your site you can review it anytime on our private, staging server. At specific milestones we update the staging server with the latest version of your site. Testing is done throughout the process, but prior to launch a thorough quality assurance test of your site is conducted to test functionality and consistency across all major web browsers.

VI. Launch

5, 4, 3, 2, 1…liftoff! After all of that hard work your new Web site has finally launched! Now it’s time to let the world know about it.
